Greetings UOSE Adventurers,
I'm thrilled to share some exciting code changes that have been implemented.
- Leech Formulas 🧛: Life and mana leech formulas have been revamped to align with the nostalgic feel of past OSI playthroughs. Now, when life leech triggers, you'll receive a flat damage return of 30%, and for mana, a flat damage return of 40% upon activation.
- Training Elementals 🛡️: Reflect damage for training elementals has been turned off. Your training sessions just got a bit safer!
- Volcano Quest Update 🌋: The Volcano quest is now more accessible. We've removed the cryptic element and lifted the requirement for quality stone mining, making the quest more straightforward for adventurers like yourself.
- Powerscroll Usage 📜: You can now skip 1 level at a time when using powerscrolls. For example, if you're at skill level 100, you can consume a powerscroll for level 110, but not for level 115.
- Tamer's Little Helper Fix 🐑: A fix has been applied to the Tamer's Little Helper found in the fields of Newhaven. It should be functioning seamlessly now.
Feel free to thoroughly test these system changes and report any peculiarities to the bug channel. Your feedback is invaluable.

Hello, & Seasons Greetings! I want to thank everyone for all of their wonderful feed back, and enjoyment expressed, to Staff concerning, The 12 Dungeons Of Christmas---Winter Event, held during the closing days of 2023! I am very excited that the event had very few issues, and also, that Staff and I somehow pulled it off! Now to the business! As you all might imagine, there was a plan involved with executing--on time--such a lengthy number of quests and decorative rewards. Even so, not everything went off without a hitch, but luckily there were only a few such issues, and today the last issue was resolved, by the best UO Free Shard Owner ever, Hephaestus! So, that said, please make sure to check out all the rewards, some new and some old, on the [Christmas Spirit Vault] vendor stone, located east--over the bridge--from west Britain Bank. The building you are seeking is the one with the sign out front that reads: Winter Event: Toy Shop. Inside is the [Christmas Spirit Vault] which has a grand allotment of items for purchase. This just in! Our secret 13th Christmas Quest is now live. Head on back to where it all started "The Salty Dog" tavern and chat up St. Nick himself for a chance to earn one amazing cloak 🤩 .

- I missed mentioning quest giver Paul and Cindy. Screenshots of Paul and his location are now listed in the previous post. Cindy can be found just west of Luna bank.
- Staff will be sending out Christmas Gifts on Christmas Day (You do not need to be logged in to participate).
- There is going to be a special 13th quest that goes live and will be open for only a limited amount of time on Christmas Day. Stay tuned in for more details.
- Starting on January 7th Staff intends on taking down Christmas decoration and cleaning up the Christmas Spirit found around the 12 dungeons.

Shard system updates that took place this AM,
- Weapon Hit leech formula has been adjusted to grant players a little extra help
- AFK captcha has been temporarily turned off (We still stand firm on AFK resource gathering and that it is not allowed)
- Strange-earth skill stone will now tell players that it needs to be locked down first prior to being used.
- [Organizeui now creates a popup or [organize for a quick and dirty inventory cleanup.
- [Spellbar has been brought back, this time with stable code
- More goodies on the back end but those will be reveled in due time ⌛

With the seasons changing, so do our vote rewards. As I did for the previous season, I made a little “Price is right game show” clip out of illustrating what was available. At your leisure, be sure to stop by and watch the next season's reward breakdown with me. I’m also terrible about asking for likes, subscriptions, upvotes, etc. Be sure to throw a few my way as it does help with attracting more foot traffic.

- On 12/4 Fall Gloom and Doom area was closed. This festive area is rescheduled to open Fall 2024 with even more content.
- We will be allowing seasonal tokens to be carried over from season to season. Do note they may not be worth the same amount next year so we still encourage spending them.
- New player command added [Spellbar This is used to create a quick access list for spells. Might be useful to adventures not using the ClassicUO client.
- New player dungeon has been captured in this video to help showcase this new fantastic area.

🛡️ Spellweaving Quest Bypass Item: Found on the strange dirt vendor stone, allows you to skip the spellweaving quest and immediately receive a spellweaving book.
- Mythical Bag: Treasure map chests may now contain Mythical Bags, providing materials for mythical crafting based on chest level.
🐉 New Tamables: Introducing a Fairy Dragon, Forest Fox, Night Stalker, Oversized Cockatiel, and a mysterious rabbit with varying control slots and minimum tame skills.
- These new tamables cannot be trained through the usual animal training methods.

🏹New Player Champion: A new champ spawn that awards 105 power scrolls (excluding crafters' power scrolls). Young player status is required to enter the champ area.
🦊Creature Updates: All new creatures are affected by slayers, making slayer properties useful on custom monsters.
🌌Mythical Crafting Additions: Dragon Scale quivers added under mythical clothing, utilizing pristine dragon scales. Oils, pads, and threads can enhance them.

New Item Models added in game! You must patch to see new items or they will be invisible and unclickable for you. New models include,

In addition, we have also added the following new items,
- Spellweaving quest Bypass - located on the strange dirt vendor stone. This will allow you to skip the spellweaving quest and gives you the book, and the two spell scrolls that come with the quest.

Treasure Map Updates include,
- Introduced Mythical Bags.Has a chance to appear in treasure map chests it will provide materials for mythical crafting based on level of the chest you pull up.
- Higher level maps can drop more ingredients along with chance at the rare mats needed for legendary oil

The new materials have same difficulty of use as valorite. The Leather is more balance to find, but the ore as you can see is more powerful, so it will be more rare to find.
- Q&A: Will there be new runics? No, at least not at this time possibly in the future.
Gem crafting fixes: I would like to apologize, during theory making of the system everyone on the staff was worried about the quickness of acquirement of the gemstones. but after doing some of my own personal play testing as a player with no gm powers use in the live realm i decided to massively tone back down the upgrade requirements the math originally was 10x10x10 = 1,000 gemstones to attempt the 1 gemcraft onto a piece of equipment. But now the new math will be 3x3x3 = 27 total gemstones for 1 attempt at the craft flawed into flawless into perfect The original numbers were my idea Sincere Apology from staff.
- 1st draft for a new newbie dungeon with quests is under way and in due time will reward beginner weapons, to compliment Syn's new haven armor and jewelry quests.

- Pet loyalty cap has now been raised from 100 to 150 (balance adjustment)
- Pet loyalty decay has been counter balanced (previously was decaying to fast and made managing a pet cumbersome).
- Pets shrunk with zero loyalty were unable to be unshrunk (bug fix)
- Get Pet command had a typo in the popup gump regarding cost (bug fix)
- Cora the sorcerers now dies with her equipment equipped (cosmetic issue only).
- Mythic token skill check was preventing those under 600 points from using it (bug fix)
- BoD books were washing the details from the deeds (bug fix)
- BoD reward turn in Gump truncated to show 0.0 values instead of 0.00000 (balance adjustment)
- Dark Guardians went from a 100% drop rate for tmaps to 20% (balance adjustment)

Beware, brave adventurers, for this Fall & Halloween season brings forth a chilling tale of darkness and intrigue. Throughout the land, the graveyards have become overrun by hordes of the undead. Skeletons, Zombies, and a new fiend known as the Butchers haunt these cursed grounds, hungry for the souls of the living.
- These Butchers, a seasonal breed of monsters, lurk in the shadows of the graveyards. They carry with them the promise of reward, for there's a decent chance that they may drop a precious pumpkin carving kit. Carve your own Halloween masterpiece with these kits, but beware, for the Butchers are not to be underestimated. For those who dare to face the Butchers head-on, the rewards are tantalizing. Among the spoils, you might discover rare Obsidian Skulls, Crystal Skulls, or even the coveted Jade Skull.
- But heed this ominous warning: should you meet your fate at the hands of these malevolent creatures, your journey is not over. Your corpse may be re-summoned into the shard as a Zombie Skeleton, cursed to roam the crypts for eternity. Yet, even in death, there is hope, for these undead abominations carry with them a rare container, a last testament to your journey.

[Town Crier Announcement]
Hear Ye! Hear Ye!
Something stirs in the ruined town of Old Haven.
Peasants, Famers, Merchants, Nobles, and Adventurers, alike, all tell the same tale!
"The ruined town--Old Haven--is overrun with undead, as thick as castle walls," says a noble lady; just returned from her daily horse ride.
"There are odd things going on in that town. T'were, flashy lights at night, when there were no storms. Tis a spooky sight I tellz yah...," recalled a merchant on his way to New Haven, to purchase goods.
"It called itself [Drelgor]. Or was it [The Impaler]. I truly can't remember, as I was running into the night so fast, after it appeared," mentioned a wandering peasant.
"Saw the undead before all this I did, but not in such a swarm as this," said a local Farmer.
"T'was true, all that was said about the goings on in Old Haven. Believe me, if it were not for a pair of helpful travelers, a lady Doctor and an Abbot, I would surely not be here to tell you," bemoaned a bloodied Adventurer.
You heard it here, first, goodly folk. Something stirs near the ruined village of Old Haven.
Just follow the road East, out of New Haven, if you dare to see what lurks in the night, for yourself.

'Old Haven' will now be a place to: fast gain skills, complete some (custom) quests, and collection point for LRC suit pieces/accessories.
There are (2) six piece LRC sets--one for Humans/Elves and one for Gargoyles--each with a 4 piece (non-set) accessory kit to fill in some of those early adventuring gaps.

- Equipment Prefix & Suffix: We have reintroduced the long-missing Prefix and Suffix to equipment. Enhance your gear with unique modifiers and unleash their true potential in your adventures!
- Keyguard Command Bug Fix: The annoying issue with the Keyguard command has now been resolved. It will no longer remove the item's name when used twice.
- Halloween Preparations: We are gearing up for the upcoming holidays! Halloween decorations and spooky monsters have been queued up to make your holiday season on Strange-Earth UO more thrilling than ever.
- New Player Commands: We've added some handy new player commands to enhance your gameplay experience:
[Point: Use this command to call out where your cursor is pointing to all surrounding players.
[Clock: Bring up an analog clock displaying the server time. [petlore: Get information on a creature's taming requirements.
[wallet: Check your bank balance and your sovereign's balance effortlessly.
[va: Access the mail system with automatic filtering to all online players except Staff.
[history Shows a log of the adventures chats near by
[donation Send loot you dont want to a community chest, great way to help out new players
- Back-end Server Maintenance: We've conducted back-end server maintenance, primarily focusing on folder restructuring to improve performance and stability.
- Top Shard Voting: July's online community voting for TOP SHARD went exceptionally well, achieving an average Rank 5 across the board. Keep voting and sharing screenshot highlights with the community to attract more adventurers and foot traffic to our server.

- We are excited to introduce our brand-new and improved UOSE Client Patcher in Version 2.0! This patcher comes with a host of enhancements, including custom login screens, decorative elements, housing foundations, music, maps, and text menus.
- Sorting through loot has never been easier! Each item now receives a color rarity rating based on its individual properties, making it simple for you to identify the value and rarity of your loot. There are 7 color rarities in total.
This new system adds a whole level of RPG to the game and helps with distinguishing the most valuable and sought-after items.

Note, players have an innate 5% chance to critically hit, thus the soft cap is 20%. The math would be something like: 5% base +15% (possible) from gear related item bonuses.

- Underworld received an overhaul as some of its secrets were missing.
- More secrets passages around the shard have been built by Syn'Mactain.
- Counselor Staff Opening announced
- Ethereal Mounts: We're thrilled to announce that ethereal mounts will no longer take up any pet slots. Now you can enjoy the company of these majestic creatures without sacrificing valuable pet slots.
- Animal Taming Bulk Order System 1.0: The Animal Taming BoD system is now live! Visit the BoD Tamer located at the Luna stalls to learn more about this new feature. You'll find a large variety of critters to chase down and tame, along with an array of enticing rewards. Make sure to run the UOSE client patchers before connecting to access the linked system update for more details.🚸
- MasterStorage Gold Balance: Your MasterStorage bag's gold balance can now be used to make purchases from the Vendors. No more juggling gold when you're out shopping!
- Vote Stones 1.0: We're delighted to see the positive response to the Vote Stones feature. Since its implementation, we've already witnessed an increase of +15 new account creations. The month is still young, so keep supporting the community's growth by casting your daily vote. Every vote counts!
- Weapon Name Coloring: Weapons have received a makeover. Their names will now be colored based on the total number of stats assigned to them. This enhancement aims to help you quickly identify if an item is worth keeping or just another useless backscratcher. Please note that we're still fine-tuning this feature, so don't take the rarity color too seriously just yet.
- Advanced Interior Decorator Tools: Good news for all decorators! We've upgraded all Interior Decorator Tools to the Advanced level. With this enhancement, you can now nudge decorative items around your house with ease. Get creative and design your dream castle!
¶ Patch release notes 5/7/23 - Big one!
Get ready for some exciting updates to enhance your gameplay experience!
We're thrilled to announce that we're bringing some major changes to the drops in-game. From now on, dragon claws will be dropping in place of the Essenceofdragonflames. Not only does this make them stackable, but it also makes room for new exciting possibilities! And don't worry, all past Essenceofdragonflames drops will remain in-game as art decor, so you can still appreciate their beauty.
As if that wasn't exciting enough, we're also introducing a brand new custom mini champ spawn for MastersOfArts. The location is currently located in both the lands of Trammel and Felucca , so get ready to explore and embark on a thrilling adventure!
We understand how tedious crafting can be, so we're introducing a new feature that dynamically pulls resources from storage keys when available. This will save you time and effort, so you can focus on what you do best - crafting and creating!
And last but not least, we've finally managed to patch the back-end spawner bug that was causing headaches for our staff. So now we can all breathe a sigh of relief and enjoy the game even more!

Break down of additional changes that went into effect,
- Shard is now available to play on through ClassicUO's web client.
- Dye Hue Room has been opened (subject to change as our Dev's acquire more free time to spice it up).
- Be sure to visit Luna's stables should you ever find yourself with a dead pet (and no skill to resurrect it).
- I added a line item to the Credits screen as its related to the masterlootbag. You can now see at a glance your bag and bank balance.
- Wild Tigers once tamed can now be ridden
- 45day house placement restriction zones have now been lowered to 30days
- Power scrolls now need to be consumed in order 105 --> 110 --> 115 --> 220
- Remember Berries located in the Yew vineyard (comical relief only)
- Skill cap raised from 920 to 1080 (or 9x GM skills)
- Black Sheep have been increased from 10 to 25; spawn location also increased.
- Chance to drop: 105 Power scrolls will now directly spawn in your backpack when killing any champ spawn
- Scribes key and some other smaller level keys have now been added to the buy list for their corresponding NPC vendor.
- The ore drops from Gargoyle summoned elementals are now automatically upgraded to be always the largest size
- Adventure's boots has been added to random dungeon chests.
- The command [keyguard has now been enabled and will add text to the item targeted letting you know the status at a glance
- Lesser bag of holding has been added to the Strange-Weightless Egg found in Luna's bank

- Bulk Order Deed book: Now holds 5000 deeds instead of 500
- Bulk Order Deed book: item count in your bag for 2 instead of per each deed.

Enhancements!
- Wiki has been expanded from 12 pages to 40. Adding more constantly.
- Shard is now running the latest release offered by the ServUO community. This now means there is more UO store content which can be purchased with Sovereigns, server side stability, and possibly even more unknown content floating around 😄.
- idoc Detector located inside luna bank the house will change colors indicating if a house is in danger of collapsing.
!!New Area Added!! New Haven Training Area
- This area will have new additions as time goes on and is located behind new haven bank in the cavern cave.
- The Lockpick training boxes are being moved there, located in the back of the cave is training elementals for players and pets along with weapons to train up skills.
- Be sure to run our custom patcher before visiting this new area.

- Master Loot Bag: Newly added item. Each adventure will get one upon logging in. (Replacing the loot bag & Replacing the Gold Ledger)
