1. Please be respectful to everyone, in game, and/or on the [UO-SE] Discord.
- This includes: Hephaestus our shard creator/owner, [UO-SE] Staff Members, [UO-SE] Discord Moderators, and your fellow player base.
- Do not over talk other players, staff, or the shard creator in UOSE’s voice channels. Staff has all right to mute or remove you for breaking the rules and being rude.
- Personal or daily DM's to GMs to just say Hi is not permitted.
- When speaking with a GM calling us Hun is not appropriate and is frowned upon. Please use their name when speaking to them.
- Personal Voice calls to the GMs or Shard Creator are not permitted unless the GM’s or Shard Creator has requested it prior to the call.
- If you have an in-game--or discord--related issue, regarding another player, staff member, or discord moderator actions, please let a [UO-SE] Staff member help you resolve the issue. If the issue involves a Staff Member--or a Discord Moderator--please send your complaint to Hephaestus directly.
2. Staff has a 0% tolerance policy on bullying of any kind. A warning might be issued in most circumstances relating to certain forms of perceived bullying. But after X number of warnings, pertaining to the act of bullying, actions will be taken to remove said bully from the shard as well as public discord channels associated with [UO-SE]
- Player Griefing/Hazing is not allowed, as it is another form of bullying. (PvP related) Take the win, and leave the dead alone.
3. Religion and Politics are often related to personal choice or familial opinion, thus conversations about said topics can be a hotbed for dispute, which can lead to unnecessary gaming/fun disruption.
- While staff respects every player’s right to have a voice. It is in the [UO-SE] shards best interest if conversations about religion, and politics, are kept to an absolute minimum. This view applies to both in-game or discord related conversations about religion or politics.
- Should staff ask you to end a conversation about religion, or politics, it is in your best interest to do so: as there may be in-game repercussions should the conversation continue.
- We ask kindly that if you feel the need to have debates. or conversations. about anything related to religious preference or political views that you take it to private discord channels or to other chatting platforms.
- Again, the staff at [UO-SE] does not wish to deny you your right to have a voice on things you want to talk about.
4. Remember suggestions are just that---[Suggestions]. Staff maintains the right to use or discard any suggestions [UO-SE] players might share.
- Players must recognize that when their suggestions are given to staff it is done freely, and without compensation.
- [UO-SE] staff members appreciate all player suggestions; (and all suggestions are read, eventually), but it is rather likely that not all suggestion’s, that our [UO-SE] players send in, will be used: either as written, or possibly at all.
- At the end of our day, game balance is a key factor, in maintaining the fun created and shared on [UO-SE].
- Please do not complain to staff that a suggestion was not implemented. That a suggestion was not used as you wrote it. Or that other players suggestions are used all the time, but yours are not.
- Sometimes a suggestion is written exactly how it is needed to be applied in game, but often this is not the case.
- Whether it is a mistranslation, of the suggestion--or a total reconstruction of your idea/suggestion--please remember to take the win. Without your suggestions, nothing might change in-game, for the better.
- Staff knows that without our players, and their many suggestions, we would likely not be able to make so many improvements to the [UO-SE] shard, as often as we do.
- Keep the suggestions coming, but make sure the ideas given is informative and complete, and please take no offense if some of your suggestions do not come to fruition.
5. Anyone caught advocating for another free shard while in-game or on discord chat, will have their [UO-SE] discord and player accounts denied access to.
- This rule is not about [UO-SE] staff thinking they are the best and thus no one should be allowed to play on other free shards.
- No, this rule is about respecting where you are playing. [UO-SE] staff encourages everyone to play wherever you want to play & on as many free-shards as you want. Just do not talk about other free-shards while in-game or on [UO-SE] chat channels.
6. At a maximum, each (player) IP Address is allowed one accounts.
- Due to the size of one’s family, exceptions can be made. If you need more than one account for your household, please contact staff and inform them of the situation--pertaining to why--and if everything checks out; additional accounts will be granted.
- In the near future, players will be able to unlock a second account through means of the donation system.
- Buying another player’s account, or selling a personal account, is forbidden by [UO-SE] staff.
7. Buying or selling in-game items for real life currency is not allowed on [UO-SE].
8. Intentionally misleading/misinforming players or officials is prohibited on [UO-SE].
- This includes but is not limited to:
- a.) Cheating players out of hard earned in game items, through (none in-game related) deception. (However, using the stealing skill--in-game--is never considered cheating)
- b.) Being caught breaking a rule by one official, and then being caught again—this time by another official—and lying to that official about not knowing that the rule you just broke (for the second time) was even a rule. (Staff will know)
9. Well this one is just a good public service announcement more than a rule. Do not ever give out your account username and password, even to staff for troubleshooting. Here at [UO-SE], we take securing your digital information very seriously. Staff, including the shard owner will never ask nor need your account information.
10. Last rule!
- Staff maintains the right to: add, update, amend, or reinterpret any--and all--rules thus given, prior, or not, yet, decreed by staff at a future date; not yet defined.
Welcome to UO Strange-Earth (UOSE), a unique and exciting Ultima Online shard! To ensure a fair, vibrant, and enjoyable gaming environment for all players, we have established clear guidelines and rules regarding resource gathering, particularly addressing AFK (Away From Keyboard) resource gathering.
1. Prohibition of AFK Resource Gathering:
- AFK resource gathering, where resources are collected without active player participation, is strictly prohibited on UOSE. We understand the appeal of shortcuts, but please refrain from using any automated scripts or methods designed for resource gathering while you are away from your computer.
2. Protecting the Economy and Community:
- AFK resource gathering disrupts the shard's economy and negatively impacts the UOSE community. It can lead to economic imbalances, inflation, and an unfair advantage for individuals who engage in such practices. Our commitment is to maintain a robust, balanced, and welcoming gaming environment.
3. Resource Gathering Requires Your Presence:
- We encourage players to participate actively in resource gathering (meaning that you are physically at the keyboard ready to respond), fostering a fair and competitive economy. This means that we allow resource gathering scripts but running these macros while you are way is considered abuse and is not allowed. Staff will issue warnings followed by additional consequences for getting caught.
4. Monitoring and Enforcement:
- UOSE staff members conduct regular and surprise checks to ensure compliance with this policy. These checks are designed to maintain the integrity of the game and promote fair play.
- If a player is discovered to be AFK resource gathering and fails to respond to staff communication within 15 minutes, staff members will take necessary action.
5. Consequences of Violating the Policy:
- Violation of the no AFK resource gathering policy may result in the following consequences:
- First Offense: A verbal warning and temporary account suspension.
- Second Offense: Permanent account deletion, including the removal of all possessions, donation items, and in-game houses.
- Additionally, in cases of repeated violations, recorded evidence of abuse may be made available.
6. Upholding a Healthy Economy and Community:
- We believe in the principles of fair play, community engagement, and the spirit of adventure that Ultima Online offers. By adhering to these resource gathering guidelines, you contribute to the preservation of UOSE's integrity, the promotion of fair competition, and an enjoyable experience for all.
Thank you for your understanding, cooperation, and dedication to maintaining the rules and expectations set forth by the UOSE community. If you have questions or concerns regarding this policy or any other aspect of the shard, please do not hesitate to reach out to our staff members for assistance.
